6 weeks!

I'm officially at the 6 week mark!!
Weight: 117
Total Weight Gain: 0 lbs.
Man, time is moving sooo slow right now. I can't wait for the u/s tomorrow! I still feel pretty good except for the tiredness. When 3:00 or so hits, I get so tired and need a nap. And I'm ready for bed by 9 or 9:30. Maybe I'll be one of the lucky ones and that will be all I get.

Here's where the lil bean is development-wise right now:

Growth is rapid this week. Just four weeks after conception, your baby is about 1/8 of an inch long. The neural tube along your baby's back is now closed, and your baby's heart is beating with a regular rhythm.

Basic facial features will begin to appear, including an opening for the mouth and passageways that will make up the inner ear. The digestive and respiratory systems begin to form as well.
Small blocks of tissue that will form your baby's connective tissue, ribs and muscles are developing along your baby's midline. Small buds will soon grow into arms and legs. Even though your little miracle is only 6 weeks old, they’re already capable of demonstrating reflex responses to touch!

Here's what a 6 week-old embryo looks like, about the size of a pea or a bb. (Check it out it has ears already!):

I can't wait for the ultrasound tomorrow so we can see the heartbeat. I still think there's only one in there, but I guess we'll know soon enough.

We picked up a few baby names books too. We're kicking around a few, but we've got lots of time to think about names I suppose.
